Kick (older children swing one leg back and forth) and sing:
Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?
Jump up and down and shout:
Yes, sir, yes, sir, three bags full
“Scoot” forward and sing:
One for my master and one for my maid/dame
When we’re all squeezed together, we say “hello” to each other!
Then scoot backwards to form the original circle, singing:
One for the little boy/girl who lives down the laneRepeat motions from above for end of song:
Baa baa . . .
I often follow this up with “Ring Around the Rosie,” of which the second verse is worth knowing. Once you’ve all fallen down, drum the floor with your hands, and sing:
The cows are in the meadow, eating buttercups.
Thunder, lightning, we all jump up!
