Throughout the year children have been intrigued by some of the work that adorns our studio. They’re gifts, we tell them, from Studio Yellow children of years past. We’ve explained to them that it’s important for us to have a piece of work or memory visible in the studio from our children each year.
One piece that has been of particular interest is the knitted ‘net’ above our large windows. We thought this would be a fitting way to move forward and decided to knit a rainbow.
Was it the promise of being immortalized in the studio through their work, or perhaps the challenge of learning how to knit? Whatever the motivator, we were met with a great deal of enthusiasm and there began our next undertaking.
We began gathering, tearing, sorting and tying fabrics in all the colors of the rainbow and our knitting frenzy was underway!
