On Wednesday and Thursday, children from Studio Red went outside in pairs to join a small group. Alongside children from Blue, Yellow and Purple, we helped dye cotton fabric using natural materials: water, vinegar, turmeric, beets, beans, avocado, and cabbage! Kim Poler, from Beehive Art, led the group through a process involving dipping, squeezing, stirring, listening, smelling, ripping, unfolding, hanging, laughing, sharing, conversing, observing, and imagining! The photo collage below gives a glimpse into the experience. We invite you to view and reflect with your child and, of course, come play with these fabrics on Family Day, June 1 at 10am!
