Dear Studio Red,
On Friday we asked you to imagine what would happen if we dug a hole and put all the seeds inside? You drew your ideas. Share them with your family!

OUR WEEK IN PARTS
INDOOR EXPLORE
This week we revisited our agreements for the library. We have been having on-going conversations about how to take care of materials and each other in a space that seems to invite hiding ourselves and hoarding materials. We made the agreement that we use the library couch just for looking at books. We agreed that our block space and outdoors are best for being big and dramatic.
What new ideas do you discover when you build with different classmates?
Teacher facilitated small groups, new rest partners, child absences, surprise moments, and growing familiarity create opportunities for children to encounter new playmates, challenge their thinking in new ways, and develop a deeper sense of belonging within our community.
BOOKS
“The acorn grew into a tree. It grew small and bigger.” Travers
Looking at books, we gather information. We return to something that sparked our interest outdoors.
How do dogs read books?
We have started to look at some books with few words: those with labels or those with simple repeating words on each page. All children are reading for meaning, looking to images to make sense of information or story. When words are few, they become an invitation for the child who is curious and ready to reference first letters and sounds.
