Studio Red: daily do & draw 3/26

Dear Studio Red,

We have heard and seen that many of you have been playing with chalk.  Kieran has figured out how to grind chalk, while Ian has been using it to create drawings in his driveway.  At Lincoln Nursery School we have created soups, drawn pathways to follow and left messages on our chalkboard for others to see.

All around the country children are at home like you.  Many have been using chalk to send messages to others. These messages are meant to brighten someone’s day and to thank other’s for the work they are doing.  People see the messages when they are out walking or driving.  Messages help us feel connected and find joy.

Here are some images of messages that have been sent by children around the country !

daily do & draw

DO

What tools will you use to send a message?

Driveway chalk drawing is one way to send a message to someone.  How else might you do it?  You might try creating a message on a flag.  Writing and posting a letter with paper and pen is another way to send a message.  Or perhaps you give someone a call to say I love you! The tools we show here are just a few you might use.  Planning how you will send your message will help you think through which tools you will gather.

DRAW

What will you communicate to others?

What will you draw? What will you write?
