A "turn and talk" is an opportunity to think along with one other child, while still being together as a whole group. Sitting knee to knee, the children passed a variety of paintbrushes and made predictions about the marks they might create.



They then began to experiment…

Amongst all the excitement there was often a noticeable silence—a rhythmic silence that comes with flow. It spoke of concentration and ease.
