Holes are an
unending source of fascination for two- to three-year-olds.
Early on, children noticed holes in the flex cabinets.

We found holes in other places as well
We introduced sewing circles

And Sam made this discovery –

Which Kaya and Travers liked very much! (Travers pulled on the strings like they were reins and said giddy-up!)

This week we added a pipe to a cabinet hole

Things got more exciting when Caroline discovered that an orange cloth was inside the pipe.
How to get it out?

Caroline’s theory was that if she could put the strings down into the hole, the strings would “reach” the cloth and then she and Saige could pull out the strings and retrieve the cloth. (Somehow, Kaya ended up getting it out from below!)
Along the way were interest, engagement, and various theories.
