Mark Weltner on Listening at Eric Carle Museum

Mark Weltner gave a talk on “The Importance of Listening In Play” at the Eric Carle Museum’s Summer Teacher Workshop, “Make Way for Play,” on July 18, 2016. Mark’s presentation followed a talk by Lella Gandini!

Collaboration with Artist Stephanie Cardon

The first annual community collaboration event occurred on May 21, 2016, engaging current families, deCordova staff, and featuring Stephanie Cardon, a local artist who is currently displaying Beacon in the deCordova sculpture park. Stephanie engaged with children in all studios, exploring through various materials the “moire effect” evident in Beacon. The culmination of the children’s work was an interactive celebration of visiting Beacon and a large installation of screens created by the children’s work.
