Children as Scientists in a Natural World

A new exhibit at the Square highlights the LNS/deCordova partnership

July 2 - November 2, 2016

This exhibition is designed to inspire visitors of all ages to take in the exciting natural world that surrounds us at the deCordova sculpture park every day using Lincoln Nursery School’s exploratory methods and discoveries as a starting point. Collaboration with Artist Stephanie Cardon

The first annual community collaboration event occurred on May 21, 2016, engaging current families, deCordova staff, and featuring Stephanie Cardon, a local artist who is currently displaying Beacon in the deCordova sculpture park. Stephanie engaged with children in all studios, exploring through various materials the “moire effect” evident in Beacon. The culmination of the children’s work was an interactive celebration of visiting Beacon and a large installation of screens created by the children’s work.
